Sébastien Gaudette

Sébastien Gaudette is a visual artist from Montreal (Canada). After completing a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts at UQÀM University, he began a vast research on the medium of paper, exploring the multiple forms and facets of crumpling. To describe his work in simple terms, he meticulously shapes rigid aluminum plates to create perfect trompe-l’oeil of paper.
His work has been the subject of many solo exhibitions in museums, art centres and galleries in the Eastern Canada. On the international scene, he has been invited to exhibit at the Art Helix Gallery in Brooklyn, in addition to having his work presented at various international fairs, including Art on Paper in Miami, Seattle Art Fair, and the Paper fair in Montreal. The artist has also completed a number of research residencies in Canada and the United States.
