Olivia Stude, a Southern California native, earned her BFA in Drawing & Painting and MFA in Painting from Laguna College of Art and Design.

Rooted in her Christian upbringing and love for storytelling, Stude creates narrative paintings that playfully reinterpret and analyze classic biblical stories through a comical and relatable modern lens. Her paintings carry a sense of dramatic irony, placing figures in curious predicaments and obscuring their identity within the enormity of their surroundings or trivial fascinations. She hopes these paintings invite viewers to look closer and relate to the comical plight. 

Outside her studio, Olivia Stude enjoys plein air painting and teaching art fundamentals in studios and colleges around Orange County.
