Short and Pithy

For this group of work, I wanted to play with throwing new characters and scenic elements in with recurring characters to explore the wonderfully absurd nature of attempting to freeze fleeting moments and reinterpret them in an effort to give substance to memory. These odd little scenes freeze the narrative and prolong the exploration of subtext, allowing time to wonder why and what next.

MEET THE ARTIST

Described as elusive and happily odd, Joshua's work echoes the philosophy of absurdist playwrights and deconstructed sets.

Receiving his Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech University and his Bachelors of Art from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, Joshua's work has been published in New American Paintings, Creative Quarterly, and Studio Visit Magazine.

His works are in the permanent collections of the Masur Museum of Art in Louisiana, the Lessedra Gallery in Bulgaria, and numerous private collections. Chambers lives in Bossier Parish with his wife Leigh and their daughter Sophia.
