Matthew’s current body of work explores the nature of memory, not in a general sense of preserving memories as petrified effigies, but rather to form creative mechanisms/devices in order to generate new images and discourses.
Other concentrations include cognitive psychology, anthropomorphism (the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object) gender identity, and physiognomy which is the study of a person’s facial features or expression, especially when regarded as indicative of character or ethnic origin
